Ooopsies!

Well I was suppose to be at the Forest Folk Festival this weekend @ Schreiber's Farm in Oxford, CT. It's running Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And despite all weather reports, it's turned into a lovely weekend. But where is Jillian? Jillian is at home, in New Haven. Not in a forest on a farm.
Yesterday it rained, so I opted out. I have jewelry, but I also have some knits I was going to bring. I have my friend Liz's canopy tent, and I didn't want anything to happen to it. I also didn't want anything to happen to my stuff. I thought about it hard and decided not to go. It had only cost me $10 a day as a vendor, anyways.
So today I got up at 7 am, took a shower (where I wrenched my already injured back), packed the car with my roomy and travel buddy Matt, and we were on our way. I knew Oxford well, as I grew up in Seymour and Oxford. So we found Quaker Farms road very easily. I even kind of remembered where Schreiber's was. BUT we drove around and around and around. Didn't see any signs until we drove out past the farm. We drove around for like a good 20 minutes. I didn't even see any tents or anything. Was it canceled? Did people just not go because of the rain? I expected to see a huge field full of tents and campers. So after we drove into Southbury again, we just kept going and went home. I'm out $30. BUT at the same time the money is going to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, so it's cool.

I have a showcase on Etsy today! Please go and take a look at the Etsy showcase and click away! www.Etsy.com

I am so sorry you missed it. We had more folks for the weekend this year than last. The weather could have been better, but no one complained. We had morning yoga and evening drumming (until morning). There were many vendors and shoppers too. The workshops were well attended and well received.

We did have to replace our signs at the campsite entrance early Saturday morning. I wonder if that's when you were seeking us. The farm or the corner market would have helped you find us! Ah well . . .

All things for a reason.

Much love.

There is talk of another Fest, same place, the first weekend of August...hope you can make that one! I stuck it out through the rain and all at this one and had a blast. I never would have know it exsisted had you and Rose not mentioned it to the CT Etsy team, so THANK YOU!
